Is Cupboard Converters a Franchise?
-
No, we are a father and son team-Bob and Rusty-operating a cabinet shop focused on adding convenience to pantries, kitchen cabinets and bathroom cabinets. Bob is a retired BellSouth engineer and Rusty is a former owner of Advantage Filing Systems in Fort Lauderdale. When Rusty sold the filing business, we decided to pool our considerable building experience into this business.(Actually, Dad was gaining weight and beginning to slow down so I coaxed him out of retirement)Rusty

What do you do?
-
We convert existing cabinets and pantries from shelves to drawers. We do this in kitchens, bathrooms, offices and anywhere else that may solve a problem for you.
-
What materials do you use?
-
Our maple drawers are made of all wood products with real maple surfaces covered by a smooth, hard, durable finish. Our premium drawer runners are manufactured by blum an Austrian company that we believe to be the best in the world. If you choose full extension, your drawers will come all the way out of your cabinets. They are quiet, very smooth, very strong, and since they are mounted beneath the drawer, they are concealed from view. If you choose 3/4 extension, they will come three fourths of the way out of your cabinets. They are also strong and smooth. Our pantry drawer runners are made by KV. They are full extension, smooth and strong. They are mounted to the sides of our drawers. Our white drawers are melamine on plywood-not particle board-and they have white metal sides. They come in both full extension and 3/4 extension.
-
Why do you use different runners on your pantry drawers?
-
We believe that a pantry drawer should have a flat bottom-not the recessed bottom that concealed runners require. The reason being that a pantry drawer sometimes get loaded with boxes and bags and their tops can pop up and get caught behind the drawer above it. This, of course, is just our opinion so if you want the blum runners in your pantry--we will do it your way. (I've been married for a really long time, so I've learned that my opinion may not always be the right one)Bob

How long does it take?
-
We have been maintaining about a two week turnaround from the time you give us a deposit until the time your drawers are installed. We intend to stay on this schedule.
-
What types of payment do you take?
-
We accept checks, major credit cards and cash.
-
Do you repair existing drawers?
-
We have, but we are not in the repair business. We will--if we can--do minor repairs on a couple of your existing drawers while we are installing your new drawers and we won't charge you extra for doing it. You should, however, tell us about these drawers when we are making our proposal. We have saved parts from defective drawers that we have replaced and we will need to know which parts we should bring with us on your installation day.
-
Can you do any cabinet?
-
We will work very hard to find a way to build you drawers for almost every situation. In fact, if you've looked in our photo gallery you may have noticed a bathroom drawer that is notched to fit around the pipe. That is an example of the kind of effort we will put into solving your storage and convenience needs. However, we can also tell you that if a drawer doesn't seem right for a particular situation we will strongly recommend against it. And, if a drawer will create some sort of hazard we will not build it.
